The Re-Fit

During the past six years we have extensively improve Slainte.  Electronics that when purchased on a boat looks great, but in most cases are valueless.  HoseClamp had purchased a Sat Nav for several thousand dollars I sold it at a sailor's swap for $25.  We replaced the engine, stripped the mast and boom and painted both with Sterling epoxy, we fixed blisters, stripped the varnish and recoated with Cetol and added a knotmeter and a max-prop.  We immediately after getting the boat to Astoria, we replaced the cotton futon mattress that HoseClamp had used with a new custom mattress..  We added insulation, a new stove and other equipment that will make life more convenient.  We sold our old monitor wind vane and puschased a new one. We swapped with our radar, GPS, circuit breakers, dodger and depth sounder.  The refit included striping the floor and revarishing and I totally redid the galley's top with Corian and replaced the sink with a deep double and new fixtures.  Slainte is always adding to the "things to do" list, but she has come a long way.
